Saraya Beach Resort & Residences has moved decisively from planning into construction. The official opening ceremony has been held on the Sekotong beachfront site, land clearing is underway, mains power is connected, and — one hour east at the Mandalika Special Economic Zone — a flagship display villa is already rising opposite the MotoGP circuit. Here is where things stand as of April 2026.
Two Sites, One Resort Story
Saraya is being delivered across two simultaneous workstreams. The main beachfront site at Sekotong on Lombok's west coast is the permanent home of the resort: 154 villas wrapped around a white-sand bay and framed by the island's western hills. In parallel, Kinnara Capital has begun construction of a full-scale display villa inside the Mandalika Special Economic Zone — a showcase build that allows prospective purchasers and agents to walk through the Saraya product in the flesh long before the main resort opens.
Both sites are now active. Both are under continuous photographic record. And as of this month, the visible story on the ground has changed dramatically.
Main Site: Opening Ceremony and First Milestones
On the 1st of April, Kinnara Capital and its local partners gathered at the Sekotong beachfront to formally mark the commencement of construction at Saraya Beach Resort & Residences. The ceremony observed traditional Sasak and Balinese blessings — incense, offerings and the turning of the first earth with ceremonial golden shovels — and brought together the project team, contractors and community representatives who will be on site over the coming months.
In the days that followed, the pace has been visible from the air as well as the ground.
Completed at the Main Site
- Official opening ceremony — held 1 April 2026 on the beachfront at Sekotong.
- Site-wide soil testing complete — full geotechnical survey of the resort footprint.
- MEP design complete — mechanical, electrical and plumbing concept drawings finalised.
- Beachfront land clearing underway — primary frontage now accessible.
- Mains power connected to site — enabling construction equipment and a permanent site office presence.
Two bulldozers are arriving on site this week to clear the balance of the land and establish the correct levels for the internal road network and villa foundations. Site office containers are scheduled for delivery within days, which will put permanent construction management on the ground six days a week. From that point, the site transitions from a sequence of ceremonial and preparatory milestones into a continuous build.
"We really look forward to the transformation that is now underway at Saraya. The pace of activity on site reflects the depth of planning that has gone into this project and the commitment of every member of our team."

Mandalika Display Villa: The Elysian Rises
In parallel with the main site, Kinnara Capital has commenced construction of a flagship display villa within the prestigious Mandalika Special Economic Zone — the internationally recognised tourism precinct directly opposite the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, home of the Indonesian MotoGP.
The display villa serves a dual strategic purpose. First, it allows prospective purchasers and agents to experience the quality, precision and design language of Saraya first-hand, well before the main resort is delivered. Second, it will stand as a premium promotional asset representing the resort's architectural ambition in one of Indonesia's most visited destinations.
The villa being built is The Elysian — the third-largest villa type in the Saraya portfolio, selected specifically because it is an ideal showcase of the resort's architectural ambition and construction quality. Over the past week, land cutting (terracing and levelling) has been completed, power and water services have been installed, and foundation works are commencing now. Every stage of the build is being recorded under continuous CCTV monitoring.
Mandalika Display Villa — Quick Facts
- Villa type: The Elysian — third-largest in the Saraya portfolio
- Location: Mandalika Special Economic Zone, opposite the MotoGP circuit
- Target delivery: 4 months
- Monitoring: Continuous CCTV from foundation to handover
What Comes Next
The next 30 days are expected to bring visible change at both sites.
At the main Sekotong site, bulldozers will complete land clearing and establish the road and foundation levels across the beachfront footprint. Site office containers will become operational and place construction management permanently on site six days a week. A detailed construction programme is being prepared for release as the project enters its continuous build phase.
At the Mandalika display villa, the foundation slab is scheduled to be poured and structural works will commence. Monthly photo and CCTV progress reports will be issued for the duration of the build, culminating in a walkable, fully finished Elysian villa within approximately four months from now.
Across both sites, the next full construction update will be released within thirty days. The pace is now set, and the record begins here.
Why This Matters
For anyone following Lombok's emergence as Southeast Asia's next serious beachfront investment market, Saraya has always been the flagship — 154 villas, a west-coast beachfront setting, premium architecture and Kinnara Capital's end-to-end delivery platform behind it. What has changed this month is that the project is no longer a set of drawings and a masterplan. It is an active construction site with services connected, earth being moved and a showcase villa already rising one hour away in Mandalika.
This is the moment in a resort project's life cycle where momentum compounds. Each subsequent update will be denser than the last.
